Seat Sizes
Seats in the economy section of an Alaska Airplane measure approximately 17 inches wide.
Seat Belts
Seat belts are measured at 46 inches long while their extenders add approximately 25 inches to the belt.
Alaska Airlines only allows seat belt extenders to be used if provided by the airline and cannot be used in an exit row.
Policy for Overweight Passengers
“We require the purchase of an additional seat for any customer who cannot comfortably fit within one seat with the armrests in the down position. The armrest is considered to be the definitive boundary between seats” – Alaska Airlines Size Seating Guidelines
Alaska Airlines also states that you must purchase a second seat if you do not meet the requirements and are flying even with a family member.
