Welcome to The Portly Passengers! I’m so honored to have you as part of the travel community.

The Portly Passenger’s motto is “Travel is for Every Body”.

My mission is to provide size-inclusive travel guides as we explore the world one destination at a time.

Dedicated to plus-size travelers, I share our experiences as a plus-size couple to help you find confidence in traveling and experiencing the world around you.

Essentially, I’ll do the embarrassing stuff so you don’t have to!

Get To Know Me

Hi, I’m Melissa and that handsome fella next to me is Peter. We have both struggled with our weight for the majority of our lives. This prevented us from wanting to join in on many of the adventures our friends and family were doing out of fear of embarrassment or being left behind.

But after our first trip together and a few uncomfortable flights later, we knew that it wasn’t impossible to travel, it was just how we traveled that differed.

So on our flight home from Jamaica, I decided to start an online community for other plus-size travelers to connect & feel included in the world of travel.

Become Part Of The Community

The Portly Passengers blog is updated about a month behind our actual travel experiences. But if you want to stay up to date on where we are or what we are doing you can follow us on Instagram.

If that isn’t your jam, we definitely recommend you subscribe to our newsletter which is packed with travel inspiration for your next adventure.

*Note your email will never be sold or shared and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Lastly, you can join one of our Facebook communities where we post breaking news, and relevant content and have open discussions about traveling plus-size.

What To Expect

Unlike other travel blogs, I am dedicated to finding, doing, and educating about traveling as a plus-size individual.

This means that you can expect to find information on policies, weight limits, plus-size shopping, food, and those embarrassing, anxiety-inducing questions.

Is travel a little difficult right now?

With gas prices and airline tickets skyrocketing sometimes we just have to save money. Or maybe you just aren’t ready to make the leap yet?

No worries! I also love to hike, sit on a beach, and scream my head off at an amusement park
