As plus-size individuals one thing we wish we could do while traveling is experiencing the joy of finding new and unique pieces to add to our wardrobe while traveling. But we have found it can sometimes be difficult to do that especially when it’s on a whim.

While studying abroad, Melissa went with a bunch of her classmates to a local store where the girls were able to try on dresses and clothes that fit perfectly. It was the same old feeling she would get when shopping for clothes with friends back home. At this time Melissa was at her heaviest and struggling to find things that looked nice or fit well. She actually hates all of her pictures from her study abroad program, but that’s a different story for later.

At this store, Melissa found a belt, made of leather, that barely fit, but it fit her none the less. $10 later and she had her first piece of travel wardrobe. Over the years she has been able to find a piece of clothing here and there with some luck but realizes that it’s not always easy.

For men, it can be even more difficult. As Peter can attest to this himself.
