When it comes to finding the right carry-on or even day-to-day bag, it can be difficult to find one that matches specific needs. However, after trying numerous different bags, I finally found one that checks all the boxes for a plus-size individual; the NutSac TacSac 15.

In this post, I’ll be reviewing the Nutsac TacSac 15 as a plus-size individual.

I have tried out a variety of bags to carry my stuff. I like messenger bags because I can avoid using my hand to help carry my bag, but also don’t need to carry it on my back. The best part is that messenger bags are big enough to hold a lot of my stuff but don’t make my back sweat all day.

The NutSac TacSac 15 is well-designed, high quality, and looks nice whether holding work files or going through TSA checkpoints. The best part is it has several advantages for the plus-size man.

The Design Of The NutSac TacSac 15

The TacSac 15 is unique because it has strap mounting points on the back of the bag rather than the front or sides. This keeps it from pulling on your shoulder and sides.

I think this is due to the weight distribution being more stable.

The back mounting allows the strap to be placed better on the body when being worn and stay in place.

Personally, I push my bag so it sits on my back and when moving I find that it stays between the love handles without any effort. This eliminates the pain points of other bags such as chafing. It even stays in place when I have it on one shoulder.

The design of the strap is bigger than any other bag I have tried. It has a shoulder pad which makes wearing the bag much more comfortable, yet it’s made of breathable material, so it doesn’t make you sweat. The strap is adjustable on both sides to fit any body size and shape.  Not to mention the strap is removable allowing you to carry the bag in your hands instead of over the should. Just like the bag, the strap and connecter brackets are of the highest quality so you don’t have to worry about breakage or wear and tear.

A Stylish Bag

As a plus-size man, I want my clothing and accessories to look great, be comfortable, and help give a good first impression, the TacSac does just that.  The bag is a beautiful designee but is subtle and doesn’t draw attention.

This bag comes in two color options, tan or black, both with a molle strap, leather accents, and metal hardware. I choose the tan color, which has a slight green tint to it (according to Melissa). The strap I received matches the bag so it doesn’t clash with my style while providing even distribution of the weight in the bag on my shoulder.

I don’t have the best spatial awareness when it comes to my body.  Earlier I said the bag fits well on my back and stays within my love handles, which is true, but I still find myself banging it into doorframes and railings.  The quality of the bag is so high that it stands up to any abuse that comes in its direction.

The Versatility of TacSac 15

Whether you are looking for a messenger bag to take documents to and from work, a computer bag, or a personal carry-on bag, then don’t look any further because the TacSac can fit all those roles.

When it comes to capacity, the TacSac 15 offers 2 large pockets with many opportunities to store and carry your contents.

Inside the main portion of the bag, the back is lined with molle webbing for cords, pens, glasses; unlike any other bag, I’ve ever seen. Which is great considering I’m always asking where I left those small items, now I don’t have to because I can easily organize them in my bag.

Why Is This The Messenger Bag For Plus-size Men?

Not designed specifically for plus-size men, this bag solves many of the issues we face as larger individuals.

The back and main pockets can be accessed when the bag is on the body. So you don’t have to take the bag on and off to get into it when moving around. Want to grab your glasses? Just swing it around and unzip the large pocket to grab them. Need to charge your phone? If you have a power bank just loop the charging cord into one of the molle straps and keep your phone charging while using without having to hold the power bank in your hands.

Bonus Features

It is very stable on a table or the floor since it doesn’t fall over I don’t have to bend over to pick it up, something I find very nice. I also don’t have to worry about someone trying to get in as the strap and peg system keeps the flap securely fastened when on my back.

Final Thoughts

I really like this bag.  I feel like it was designed just for the plus-size man. The incredible forethought NutSac put into this bag’s design eliminated problems that I never knew could be eliminated.

The strap attachment points on the back are a stroke of genius. The look of the bag is perfect for me and for any overweight man.  The quality of the bag is so high that it stands up to the abuse I threw at it.

As mine was provided by the manufacturer I am not going to speak to value, but they offer a 30-day money-back return policy and free shipping for orders over a hundred bucks.  It seems to me like you can determine the value for yourself without too much risk.  They also let you upgrade the bag by paying the difference and offer a lifetime warranty.

If you need a bag and want to get something better than you carried in school, look at the NutSac. I like the TacSac 15 I have but their whole line looks worth consideration to me.
